In the previous rounds, the 19-year-old Romanian beat Frenchwoman Fiona Ferro, the No 8 seed (6-3, 6-0) and American Elvina Kalieva (6-4, 6-2).
Lys, ranked No 143, defeated Greek Sapfo Sakellaridi (6-0, 6-0) and Romanian Jaqueline Cristian, the No 3 seed (6-7 (3), 6-4, 6-3) earlier in the tournament.
