Argentinian Tomas Martin Etcheverry, the No 6 seed, advanced to the last 8 of the Lyon Open when Brazilian Thiago Seyboth Wild retired on Wednesday at Parc de la Tête d’or.
Etcheverry, ranked No 29, led 7-5, 3-0 when Seyboth Wild, ranked No 58, pulled out on Wednesday at Parc de la Tête d’or.
The Argentinian will face the winner of the match between Frenchman Ugo Humbert, the top seed, and German Dominik Koepfer next.
Tomas Martin Etcheverry defeated Spanish qualifier Nikolas Sanchez Izquierdo (1-6, 6-2, 6-2) ahead of his victory.
