Geneva Open: Shevchenko reaches second round

Alexander Shevchenko won against Fabian Marozsan 6-4, 7-6 (4) on Monday and will face Finn Emil Ruusuvuori in the next round

Kazakh Alexander Shevchenko advanced to the second round of the Geneva Open by winning against Hungarian Fabian Marozsan, the No 7 seed, 6-4, 7-6 (4) at Tennis Club de Genève, Parc des Eaux-Vives on Monday.

Shevchenko, ranked No 61, will play Finn Emil Ruusuvuori next.
