Wildcard Alexandre Muller beat wildcard Richard Gasquet 6-4, 6-4 to advance to the second round of the Lyon Open at Parc de la Tête d’or on Sunday.
Muller, ranked No 109, will face the winner of the match between Argentinian Mariano Navone, the No 7 seed, and Russian Pavel Kotov next.
