A short trailer has been released of the forthcoming Amazon Prime documentary ‘Federer: Twelve Final Days’.

It shows Federer reading his retirement speech, and also features wife Mirka describing his “incredible journey”.

There is footage of him playing as a child as well as a clip of him walking on to court at the 2022 Laver Cup, where he played his final match in doubles with Rafael Nadal, and further press information suggests that a camera crew gained unprecedented access to the Federer camp for the last 12 days of his professional tennis career.

The ATP reported that Federer discusses the reasons behind his decision to retire and its impact on his family.

The film, directed by Asif Kapadia and Joe Sabia, will be released on Amazon Prime on June 20 – ahead of this year’s edition of Wimbledon, the Grand Slam Federer won eight times.
