Egyptian Mayar Sherif, the No 8 seed, reached the last 16 of the Parma Ladies Open presented by Iren by winning against Italian qualifier Martina Colmegna 6-2, 7-5 on Tuesday evening.
Sherif, ranked No 80, will play Swiss qualifier Susan Bandecchi next.
