Italian Open: Keys makes last 16

American Madison Keys, the No 18 seed, won against Brazilian Beatriz Haddad Maia, the No 12 seed, 6-4, 4-6, 6-3 to advance to the last 16 of the Italian Open at the Foro Italico in Rome on Saturday afternoon.
Keys, ranked No 16, will face Romanian Sorana Cirstea, the No 28 seed, next.
The American defeated Colombian Camila Osorio (6-0, 4-6, 6-3) in the previous round of the Rome tournament.
In the previous round of the Rome tournament, Haddad Maia, ranked No 13, edged out Chinese Xinyu Wang (4-6, 6-3, 6-4).
