Madrid Open: Rybakina books spot in quarter-finals

Kazakh Elena Rybakina, the No 4 seed, advanced to the quarter-finals of the Madrid Open by winning against qualifier Sara Bejlek 6-1, 6-3 at the Caja Magica on Monday evening.
Rybakina, ranked No 4, will play the winner of the match between Kazakh Yulia Putintseva and Russian Daria Kasatkina, the No 10 seed, next.
Earlier in the tournament, the Kazakh beat Italian Lucia Bronzetti (6-4, 6-3) and Egyptian Mayar Sherif (6-1, 6-4).
Bejlek, ranked No 136, defeated Russian Anna Blinkova (4-6, 6-3, 6-3), Russian Anna Kalinskaya, the No 24 seed (6-1, 6-4) and American Ashlyn Krueger (6-3, 6-1) in the previous rounds of the Madrid tournament.
