La Bisbal d’Emporda Open: Carle reaches last four

Argentinian Maria Lourdes Carle, the No 6 seed, moved into the semi-finals of the La Bisbal d’Emporda Open by winning against Russian qualifier Oksana Selekhmeteva 6-4, 6-4 at the Club Esportiu CT La Bisbal in La Bisbal d’Emporda on Friday.
Carle, ranked No 98, will play the winner of the match between Hungarian Dalma Galfi and qualifier Zeynep Sonmez next.
The Argentinian beat Sara Bejlek (6-1, 6-3) and Andorran qualifier Victoria Jimenez Kasintseva (6-2, 1-6, 6-2) in the previous rounds of the La Bislab d’Emporda tournament.
Earlier in the tournament, Oksana Selekhmeteva won against Spanish wildcard Leyre Romero Gormaz (7-5, 6-3) and Pole qualifier Katarzyna Kawa (6-2, 5-7, 6-3).
