Miami Open: Keys defeats Wang to make last 16

American Madison Keys, the No 17 seed, defeated Chinese Xinyu Wang 6-4, 7-6 (5) to advance to the last 16 of the Miami Open at the Hard Rock Stadium.
Keys, ranked No 18, will play the winner of the match between American qualifier Taylor Townsend and Kazakh Elena Rybakina, the No 4 seed, next.
Ahead of her victory, the American won against Russian Diana Shnaider (6-2, 6-4).
Wang, ranked No 43, beat American wildcard Hailey Baptiste (7-6 (1), 6-3) and Russian Veronika Kudermetova, the No 16 seed (6-3, 6-2) earlier in the tournament.
