Qatar Open: Zheng defeats Linette in first match since Australian Open final, makes last 16

Chinese Qinwen Zheng, the No 5 seed, beat Pole Magda Linette 6-2, 2-6, 6-3 to advance to the last 16 of the Qatar Open at the Khalifa International Tennis and Squash Complex in Doha on Tuesday.
Zheng, ranked No 7, will play the winner of the match between Spanish wildcard Paula Badosa and Canadian Leylah Fernandez next.
Linette, ranked No 53, won against Japanese qualifier Nao Hibino (6-1, 6-4) in the previous round of the Qatar tournament.
