Australian Open: Davidovich Fokina books spot in second round

Spaniard Alejandro Davidovich Fokina, the No 23 seed, beat Frenchman Constant Lestienne 6-4, 6-4, 7-6 (5) to move into the second round of the Australian Open at Melbourne Park on Monday.

This is the fourth time in four main draw appearances at Melbourne Park that the Spaniard is through to the second round.

Davidovich Fokina, ranked No 24, will play the winner of the match between German Maximilian Marterer and Portuguese Nuno Borges next. He will be aiming to reach the third round at the Australian Open for the first time in his career.
