Angers Open: Paquet dispatches Cocciaretto to reach semi-finals

Frenchwoman Chloe Paquet won against Italian Elisabetta Cocciaretto, the top seed, 7-5, 6-3 to advance to the semi-finals of the Angers Open at the Arena Loire de Trélazé.

Paquet, ranked No 186, will play Spaniard Cristina Bucsa, the No 3 seed, next.

The Frenchwoman beat Estonian Kaia Kanepi (6-4, 6-2) and No 8 seed Alize Cornet (6-3, 7-6 (5)) ahead of her victory.

Earlier in the tournament, Cocciaretto, ranked No 48, defeated Swiss Susan Bandecchi (6-1, 3-6, 6-1) and Swiss Celine Naef (2-6, 6-3, 6-1).
