Ukrainian Dayana Yastremska, the No 6 seed, beat Cypriot Raluka Serban 6-4, 6-3 to reach the last 8 of the Angers Open at the Arena Loire de Trélazé.
Yastremska, ranked No 106, will play American Mccartney Kessler next.
In the previous round of the Angers tournament, the Ukrainian edged out French wildcard Tiphanie Lemaitre (2-6, 6-2, 6-4).
Serban, ranked No 185, won against French wildcard Manon Leonard (6-4, 6-0) in the previous round of the Angers tournament.
