Fernanda Contreras Gomez defeated Victoria Jimenez Kasintseva 6-2, 7-5 on Tuesday night. She’ll play the winner of the match between Colombian Emiliana Arango, the No 8 seed, and Mexican qualifier Daniela Martinez Guerrero in the next round

Mexican wild card Fernanda Contreras Gomez moved into the second round of the Tampico Open by winning against Andorran Victoria Jimenez Kasintseva 6-2, 7-5 at the Centro Libanés Mexicano de Tampico on Tuesday night.
Contreras Gomez, ranked No 409, will play the winner of the match between Colombian Emiliana Arango, the No 8 seed, and Mexican qualifier Daniela Martinez Guerrero next.
