French qualifier Giovanni Mpetshi Perricard moved into the quarter-finals of the European Open by winning against Belgian wildcard David Goffin 7-5, 6-3 at the Lotto Arena in Antwerp.
Mpetshi Perricard, ranked No 226, will face the winner of the match between Frenchman Gregoire Barrere and Kazakh Alexander Bublik, the No 3 seed, next.
The 20-year-old Frenchman edged out Spaniard Roberto Carballes Baena, the No 6 seed (0-6, 6-3, 7-6 (4)) in the previous round of the Antwerp Open.
In the previous round of the Antwerp Open, Goffin, ranked No 105, beat Frenchman Quentin Halys (6-4, 6-1).
