Sixth seed Lucia Bronzetti won against Sara Errani 6-3, 6-4 to reach the quarter-finals of the Jasmin Open at the Skanes Family Hotel Monastir on Wednesday.
Bronzetti, ranked No 62, will play the winner of the match between Italian Jasmine Paolini, the top seed, and Croat wildcard Petra Marcinko next.
Lucia Bronzetti beat Slovak Kristina Kucova (6-1, 6-1) ahead of her victory.
In the previous round of the Monastir tournament, Errani, ranked No 108, won against Slovenian Tamara Zidansek (6-2, 6-7 (6), 6-3).
