Tunisian Ons Jabeur, the top seed, beat German Tamara Korpatsch 6-3, 6-2 to move into the last eight of the Ningbo Open on Wednesday.
Jabeur, ranked No 7, will face Russian wildcard Vera Zvonareva next.
Ahead of her victory, the Tunisian won against Frenchwoman Diane Parry (7-6 (3), 7-5).
Korpatsch, ranked No 107, won against qualifier Jodie Burrage (6-2, 7-6 (1)) in the previous round.
