Spaniard Marina Bassols Ribera, the No 5 seed, won against Greek Sapfo Sakellaridi 6-4, 6-3 to move into the last 8 of the Zavarovalnica Sava Ljubljana on Wednesday.
Bassols Ribera, ranked No 132, will play Croat Lucija Ciric Bagaric next.
Ahead of her victory, the Spaniard edged out Serb Lola Radivojevic (1-6, 6-1, 7-6 (5)).
Sakellaridi, ranked No 284, defeated Pole Weronika Falkowska (6-1, 6-2) in the previous round.
