Russian Daria Kasatkina, the No 13 seed, reached the second round of the US Open by winning against American Alycia Parks 2-6, 6-4, 6-2 at the USTA Billie Jean King National Tennis Center in New York on Tuesday afternoon.
Kasatkina, ranked No 14, will face the winner of the match between Romanian Ana Bogdan and American Sofia Kenin next.
