Winston-Salem Open: Lucky loser Kumar upsets eighth seed Cerundolo

American lucky loser Omni Kumar upset Dutchman Botic van de Zandschulp, the No 8 seed, 6-3, 7-5 to reach the last 16 of the Winston-Salem Open at Wake Forest Tennis Complex on Tuesday.

Kumar, ranked No 385, will play Argentinian Juan Manuel Cerundolo next.

The 21-year-old American defeated Frenchman Arthur Rinderknech (6-3, 7-6 (3)) in the opening round of the Winston-Salem tournament.
