Russian Kamilla Rakhimova, the No 8 seed, advanced to the last 16 of the Chicago Women’s Open by beating Pole Katarzyna Kawa 6-1, 6-2 on Tuesday evening.
Rakhimova, ranked No 78, will play the winner of the match between Robin Anderson and wildcard Clervie Ngounoue next.
