Kazakh Elena Rybakina, the No 3 seed, moved into the last 16 of the Canadian Open by defeating American Jennifer Brady 6-7 (3), 7-6 (5), 6-3 at Stade IGA in Montreal on Wednesday evening.
The contest, held over due to rain last night with Brady leading 4-2 in the opening set tiebreak, lasted two hours and 46 minutes.

Third-seeded Rybakina hit 44 winners against 19 for the American as she rebounded from a set down to improve to 36-9 on the season (with five titles).
Rybakina, ranked No 4, will face American Sloane Stephens next.
In the previous round of the Rogers Cup, Jennifer Brady edged out Latvian Jelena Ostapenko (7-6 (7), 0-6, 7-6 (8)).
