Wimbledon champion Vondrousova sets round 2 clash with Wozniacki in Montreal

No 9 seed Marketa Vondrousova moved into the second round of the Canadian Open by winning against Egyptian Mayar Sherif 6-4, 6-2 at Stade IGA in Montreal on Tuesday.

The Wimbledon champion, playing for the first time since she defeated Ons Jabeur for her maiden major title on the Centre Court at the All England Club, stretched her winning streak to eight matches and set a highly anticipated clash against former world No 1 Caroline Wozniacki next.
