A few hours afte rhis marathon win over Andy Murray, Fritz was back on court and won his seventh match in a row
Back on the Washington courts for the second time today, top seed Taylor Fritz was untroubled by Australia’s Jordan Thompson, winning 6-3, 6-3 to make the semi-finals of the Citi Open 2023.
Earlier in the day, Fritz had taken place in an epic arm-wrestle against Andy Murray, taking over three hours to down the former world No 1 6-7 (2), 6-3, 6-4. With only a few hours rest, heading back out to play his quarter-final against No 71 Thompson was a big ask.

Fritz, ranked No 9, will play Dutchman Tallon Griekspoor, the No 12 seed, in the Citi Open semi-finals.
