Croatia Open: Sonego wins all-Italian clash, books spot in quarter-finals

Second seed Lorenzo Sonego has defeated Marco Cecchinato 6-1, 7-6 (7) to reach the Croatia Open quarter-finals in Umag on Thursday evening.
The all-Italian match was only the second time the two compatriots have met on the ATP Tour, with Sonego also winning their other clash. Sonego, ranked No 43, will face Spaniard Jaume Munar next.
In the previous round of the Umag tournament, Cecchinato, ranked No 96, beat Russian Alexander Shevchenko (4-6, 7-6, 6-3).
