Peruvian Juan Pablo Varillas advanced to the second round of the Swiss Open by winning against Finnish lucky loser Otto Virtanen 6-2, 6-3 at the Roy Emerson Arena in Gstaad on Tuesday.
Varillas, ranked No 66, will face Argentinian qualifier Facundo Bagnis next.
