Bad Homburg Open: Swiatek breezes past Teichmann to make quarter-finals

Pole Iga Swiatek, the top seed, won against Swiss qualifier Jil Teichmann 6-3, 6-1 to move into the quarter-finals of the Bad Homburg Open at Bod Hombourg vor der Höhe.

Swiatek, ranked No 1, will face the winner of the match between Canadian Leylah Fernandez and Russian Anna Blinkova, the No 9 seed, next.

In the previous round of the Bad Hombourg tournament, the 22-year-old Pole defeated German Tatjana Maria (5-7, 6-2, 6-0).

Teichmann, ranked No 129, edged out American qualifier Claire Liu (3-6, 6-3, 6-4) in the previous round of the Bad Hombourg tournament.
