Morocco Open: Bronzetti makes last four

Italian Lucia Bronzetti reached the semi-finals of the Morocco Open by winning against American Alycia Parks, the No 4 seed, 6-2, 6-0 at Union Sportive des Cheminots du Maroc in Rabat on Thursday afternoon.

Bronzetti, ranked No 102, will face the winner of the match between Peyton Stearns and second seed Sloane Stephens next.

In the previous rounds of the Rabat Grand Prix, the Italian beat Swede Rebecca Peterson (6-4, 7-6 (4)) and edged out German Tatjana Maria, the No 8 seed (6-7 (1), 6-4, 7-5).

Parks, ranked No 49, defeated Russian qualifier Anastasia Tikhonova (6-3, 7-6 (6)) and Russian Kamilla Rakhimova (6-4, 6-1) earlier in the tournament.
