Ukrainian wildcard Elina Svitolina moved into the last 4 of the Saint-Malo Open by defeating Frenchwoman Leolia Jeanjean 6-3, 6-1 at the Parc des sports de Marville on Friday evening.
Elina Svitolina will play the winner of the match between American wildcard Sloane Stephens and Frenchwoman Jessika Ponchet next.
Ahead of her victory, the Ukrainian won against Greek Despina Papamichail (7-5, 6-1) and edged out Belgian Ysaline Bonaventure, the No 4 seed (2-6, 6-4, 7-6 (5)).
Jeanjean, ranked No 137, won against qualifier Alice Robbe (7-5, 6-4) and Italian Lucia Bronzetti, the No 5 seed (6-3, 6-1) in the previous rounds of the Saint-Malo tournament.
