Madrid Open: Pera moves into round of 32, could face Swiatek next
Bernarda Pera beat Tatjana Maria 6-1, 6-3 on Friday. She’ll face the winner of the match between Pole Iga Swiatek, the top seed, and Austrian lucky loser Julia Grabher in the next round
American Bernarda Pera, the No 28 seed, moved into the round of 32 at the Madrid Open by winning against German Tatjana Maria 6-1, 6-3 at the Caja Magica on Friday.
Pera, ranked No 32, will play the winner of the match between Pole Iga Swiatek, the top seed, and Austrian lucky loser Julia Grabher next.
Maria, ranked No 66, beat Filipino wildcard Alexandra Eala (6-1, 6-1) in the previous round of the Madrid tournament.
