Spaniard Albert Ramos-Vinolas advanced to the second round of the Madrid Masters by beating Belarusian Ilya Ivashka 4-6, 7-6 (3), 6-2 at the Caja Magica on Wednesday.
Ramos-Vinolas, ranked No 60, will face No 29 seed Alejandro Davidovich Fokina next.
