Bogota Open: Tatjana Maria reaches last four
Tatjana Maria won against Nuria Brancaccio 6-3, 6-2 on Friday evening and will face the winner of the match between Brazilian Laura Pigossi, the No 6 seed, and Francesca Jones in the next round
German Tatjana Maria, the second seed, reached the semi-finals of the Bogota Open by winning against Italian qualifier Nuria Brancaccio 6-3, 6-2 at the Country Club Bogota on Friday evening.
Maria, ranked No 66, will face the winner of the match between Brazilian Laura Pigossi, the No 6 seed, and Francesca Jones next.
Ahead of her victory, the 35-year-old German beat American Katrina Scott (6-1, 6-4) and Brazilian qualifier Carolina M. Alves (6-2, 6-4).
Brancaccio, ranked No 206, won against Greek Despina Papamichail (6-2, 6-2) and Austrian qualifier Sinja Kraus (6-2, 6-2) earlier in the tournament.
