Miami Masters: Ruud moves past Ivashka into third round

Norwegian Casper Ruud, the No 3 seed, moved into the third round of the Miami Masters by winning against Belarusian Ilya Ivashka 6-2, 6-3 at the Hard Rock Stadium on Friday night.

Ruud, ranked No 4 and last year’s runner-up, will play Dutchman Botic van de Zandschulp, the No 26 seed, next.

Ivashka, ranked No 80, defeated German qualifier Daniel Altmaier (6-2, 6-1) in the previous round of the Miami Open.
