Indian Wells: Kalinskaya beats rising American Parks, to meet Pliskova next
The Russian needed only 56 minutes to beat Alycia Parks in straight sets

Russian Anna Kalinskaya defeated rising American Alycia Parks 6-1, 6-1 to reach the second round of the BNP Paribas Open at the Indian Wells Tennis Garden on Wednesday.
The 22-year-old Parks won her first WTA Tour in Lyon last month with a win over France’s Caroline Garcia and has climbed to No 55 in the rankings. However, since then her record on the tour has dropped to 1-4 with the latest loss.
Kalinskaya, ranked No 60, needed only 56 minutes for the win and will play No 17 seed Karolina Pliskova next.
