Latvian Jelena Ostapenko beat American Madison Keys 7-5, 6-2 to reach the second round of the Qatar Open at the Khalifa International Tennis and Squash Complex in Doha on Tuesday.
Ostapenko, ranked No 14, will play second seed Jessica Pegula next.
