WTA Hobart International: Former Australian Open champ Kenin into second round
Sofia Kenin beat Lin Zhu 6-2, 6-2 on Tuesday and will face either qualifier Maryna Zanevska or second seed Elise Mertens in the next round

Former Australian Open champion Sofia Kenin advanced to the second round of the Hobart International 1 at the Domain Tennis Centre on Tuesday with a straight sets win over China’s Lin Zhu.
Kenin, who is ranked No 280 in the world, after a year of struggles and needed a wildcard into the event, defeated Zhu 6-2, 6-2.
She will play the winner of the match between qualifier Maryna Zanevska and second seed Elise Mertens next.
