German Tamara Korpatsch, the No 5 seed, won against American Elizabeth Mandlik 3-6, 6-1, 6-1 to advance to the second round of the Open d’Angers at Arena Loire in Trélazé on Monday evening.
Korpatsch, ranked No 74, will play the winner of the match between qualifier Emeline Dartron and Leolia Jeanjean next.
