Gijon Open: Cerundolo into quarter-finals
Francisco Cerundolo defeated Manuel Guinard 7-6 (5), 6-2 on Thursday. He’ll play Austrian Dominic Thiem in the next round

Argentinian Francisco Cerundolo, the No 4 seed, won against French qualifier Manuel Guinard 7-6 (5), 6-2 to move into the last 8 of the Gijon Open at the Palacio deportes on Thursday.
Cerundolo, ranked No 29, will play Austrian Dominic Thiem next.
In the previous round of the Gijon, Guinard, ranked No 153, benefited from the abandonment of Italian Fabio Fognini (4-6, 6-0, 2-0).
