German qualifier Tamara Korpatsch edged out Italian Lucia Bronzetti, the No 4 seed, 2-6, 6-4, 6-4 to reach the second round of the Budapest Open at Római Tennis Academy on Monday night.
Korpatsch, ranked No 118, will play the winner of the match between Hungarian Reka Luca Jani and Montenegrin Danka Kovinic next.
