Slovenia Open: Haddad Maia moves into quarter-finals

Brazilian Beatriz Haddad Maia, the second seed, advanced to the last eight of the Slovenia Open by beating Spaniard Cristina Bucsa 6-1, 6-4 at Tennis Arena Portoroz on Wednesday evening.
Haddad Maia, ranked No 18, will face Romanian Ana Bogdan next.
In the previous round, the Brazilian won against Dane Clara Tauson (7-6 (3), 6-3).
Bucsa, ranked No 110, won against Croat wildcard Petra Marcinko (2-6, 6-4, 6-1) in the first round.
