Spanish qualifier Rebeka Masarova reached the quarter-finals of the Tiriac Foundation Trophy by winning against Hungarian Anna Bondar, the No 3 seed, 6-4, 6-2 on Wednesday.
Masarova, ranked No 199, will play the winner of the match between Hungarian Dalma Galfi, the No 8 seed, and Italian Sara Errani next.
Ahead of her victory, the Spaniard edged out Romanian Gabriela Lee (3-6, 6-2, 6-4).
Bondar, ranked No 52, defeated Russian Darya Astakhova (4-6, 6-3, 6-3) in the previous round.
