Belarusian Aliaksandra Sasnovich, the No 7 seed, reached the last four of the Tennis in the Land by winning against American Madison Brengle 6-4, 6-1 at Cleveland’s iconic Jacobs Pavilion at Nautica in Flats West Bank on Thursday evening.
Sasnovich, ranked No 36, will face the winner of the match between Frenchwoman Alize Cornet, the No 8 seed, and Chinese Shuai Zhang next.
The Belarusian beat Serb Aleksandra Krunic (7-6 (5), 6-1) and Spaniard Sara Sorribes Tormo (4-6, 6-3, 6-3) ahead of her victory.
In the previous rounds, Brengle, ranked No 63, edged out Russian Varvara Gracheva (6-3, 4-6, 7-5) and Russian Ekaterina Alexandrova, the No 3 seed (3-6, 7-5, 7-5).
