American qualifier Marcos Giron advanced to the second round of the Cincinnati Masters by winning against Belgian qualifier David Goffin 6-3, 6-4 at the Linder Tennis Family Center on Monday night.
Giron, ranked No 54, will face Spaniard Roberto Bautista Agut, the No 15 seed, next.
