Chinese Qiang Wang reached the second round of the Thoreau Open by beating Georgian Mariam Bolkvadze 6-1, 6-2 at Thoreau Tennis club in Concord on Tuesday evening.
Wang, ranked No 110, will play the winner of the match between American wildcard Ashlyn Krueger and Swiss Viktorija Golubic, the No 5 seed, next.
