Croatia Open: Bagnis moves into quarter-finals

Facundo Bagnis beat Corentin Moutet 6-3, 6-1 on Thursday evening. He’ll face the winner of the match between Spaniard Carlos Alcaraz, the top seed, and Slovak lucky loser Norbert Gombos in the next round

Argentinian Facundo Bagnis reached the quarter-finals of the Croatia Open by winning against French qualifier Corentin Moutet 6-3, 6-1 at the ITC Stella Maris in Umag on Thursday evening.

Bagnis, ranked No 120, will face the winner of the match between Spaniard Carlos Alcaraz, the top seed, and Slovak lucky loser Norbert Gombos next.

Ahead of his victory, the Argentinian beat Tomas Martin Etcheverry (7-5, 6-3).

Moutet, ranked No 116, defeated German Daniel Altmaier, the No 6 seed (6-4, 6-2) in the previous round of the Umag.
