Generali Open: Martinez makes last 8

Pedro Martinez defeated Federico Coria 6-4, 6-3 on Wednesday. He’ll face the winner of the match between Spaniard Albert Ramos-Vinolas, the No 5 seed, and Peruvian Juan Pablo Varillas in the next round

Spaniard Pedro Martinez, the No 7 seed, won against Argentinian Federico Coria 6-4, 6-3 to move into the quarter-finals of the Generali Open at Kitzbühel Tennis Club on Wednesday.

Martinez, ranked No 49, will face the winner of the match between Spaniard Albert Ramos-Vinolas, the No 5 seed, and Peruvian Juan Pablo Varillas next.

The Spaniard beat Chilean wildcard Nicolas Jarry (7-6 (4), 6-3) in the previous round of the Kitzbuhel.

In the previous round of the Kitzbuhel, Coria, ranked No 73, defeated Chilean Cristian Garin (6-4, 7-5).
