Hamburg Open: Molcan books spot in last eight, defeating Carreño Busta
Alex Molcan edged out Pablo Carreno Busta 6-3, 1-6, 7-6 (5) on Wednesday and will play Croat Borna Coric in the next round

Slovak Alex Molcan reached the quarter-finals of the Hamburg Open by edging out Spaniard Pablo Carreno Busta (photo), the No 4 seed, 6-3, 1-6, 7-6 (5) at Am Rothenbaum on Wednesday.
Molcan, ranked No 48, will play Croat Borna Coric next.
Ahead of his victory, the Slovak won against German qualifier Marko Topo (7-5, 6-3). Carreno Busta, ranked No 23, beat Italian qualifier Luca Nardi (6-2, 6-1) in the previous round.
