American Bernarda Pera reached the last eight of the Hamburg Open by defeating Swiss qualifier Joanne Zuger 6-1, 6-1 at Am Rothenbaum in Hambourg on Wednesday afternoon.
Pera, ranked No 81, will face Czech Katerina Siniakova next.
The American won against Romanian Elena-Gabriela Ruse, the No 9 seed (6-0, 6-4) in the previous round. Zuger, ranked No 165, edged out German Jule Niemeier (6-4, 0-6, 6-4).
