ALERT – Hall of Fame Open: Cressy wins the trophy

Maxime Cressy won the tournament on Sunday evening against Alexander Bublik.

American Maxime Cressy, the No 4 seed, edged out Kazakh Alexander Bublik, the No 3 seed, 2-6, 6-3, 7-6 (3) to win the Hall of Fame Open final at the International Tennis Hall of Fame & Museum in Newport on Sunday evening.

In the previous rounds of the Hall of Fame Open, Cressy, ranked No 41, defeated qualifier Mitchell Krueger (6-3, 6-4), Steve Johnson (6-7 (3), 6-4, 6-4) and second seed John Isner (6-2, 4-6, 6-3).

Bublik, ranked No 42, beat American Jack Sock (6-3, 3-6, 6-2), No 6 seed Andy Murray (7-5, 6-4) and Australian Jason Murray Kubler (6-3, 6-2) earlier in the tournament.
